3 Ways To Get The Most Out Of Your Outdoor Living Space

Now that the clocks have changed the days are longer and brighter. This means it is time to make the most out of your outdoor living space. Many people take their outside space for granted and forget that it is a great extension to their home. For this reason, we have listed 3 ways to help you get the most out of your patio or outdoor living area:

1.      Connect the indoor and outdoor spaces

A good way to condition yourself into using your outdoor living space is to connect the indoors with the outdoors, giving the illusion that moving from the inside to the outside is no different from moving effortlessly from one room to another. A good way to connect the indoor and outdoor space is by mirroring your homes interior, creating an uninterrupted flow from the inside to the outside of the home. This could be achieved in many ways, such as by using the same colour scheme or the same flooring material indoors and out. Another way a connection can be created is by using sliding glass doors which act almost like a sliding glass wall. This is very effective as even when closed, the outdoor area is still in sight and still a part of the home, whilst drawing maximum light in.

2.      Furniture

Placing furniture in the patio or outdoor living space makes it more inviting and creates a communal feel. Outdoor furniture, such as a table and chairs or a small seating area will encourage the use of the outside and are great for dining or relaxing. Adding small touches such as outdoor cushions will also create an indoor, cosy feel. If space is an issue, double duty furniture is a great option, such as a table which doubles up as storage, and this will really allow you to utilise you space in the best way.

3.       Keep it comfortable

One of the main reasons people do not consider using their outdoor space is because they believe it will not be as comfortable as the indoors. Ensuring the outdoor living space is warm and light is therefore important if you want to make the most out of it. Incorporating small touches such as outdoor heaters, lights and even some form of shelter will mean that you will keep warm in those cooler evenings and allow you to use your outdoor space even in the colder and darker seasons.

There are therefore many options for making the most out of your outdoor living space and for over 10 years, Clear View have been helping to create beautiful spaces with their range of windows and doors.
