Bi-fold this summer and get more family freedom

Bi-folding doors are the must have home improvement accessory this year according to the latest figures. At Clear View, we have seen a sharp rise in the number of homeowners wishing to add bi-folding doors to their homes and this has been felt across the industry.

We reported a similar story to this earlier in the year and looked at some of the main reasons why they are growing in popularity. Top of the list was the natural light and freedom they brought to the house, as well as other great additional benefits too.

In this article however we are going to look at something people don’t always consider when installing large amounts of glass to their house, more safety – in particular child safety.

If you have bi-folding doors at your home, your children can come in and out of the house as they please, you can sit in side and have a watch on them at all times and much more. Also it is less likely they will drop anything when going in or out of the house (trying to open doors) because these will already be open. They will also not run into the doors which can be an issue if people assume a sliding door has been left open and try and run in the house causing serious injury to the individual.

Bi-folding doors also give them impression that you are all in the same room so your children will love the extra ‘freedom; they will get from being able to play ‘in the same room’ as their parents but being outside in the garden. A family we recently spoke to said this has changed dinner time as the kids could play in the garden until they were ready to eat with their parents able to watch out and still hear and see what they are doing.

If you would like to know some of the many other benefits of bi-folding doors and how they could be added to your home, please speak to Yorkshire bi-folding door specialists Clear View. The pictures on our website are from real homes in the Huddersfield area and you can see how they have enhanced their property.
