If you are thinking of changing the external doors of your home, there are many different things to consider.
Often decision come down to practicality, costs and appearance so Clear View have put together a list of common questions we get asked by buyers like yourselves to help you make an informed and practical decision. If you have any other questions you can refer to our FAQ’s page found here on our website.
This is very much a personal choice, however there are a few things to think about. The concertina effect of the bi-folding door will create large amounts of open free space and this is very good if you have large amounts of traffic through the doors. If however, they are going to remain closed 80% of the time, you may want to choose sliding doors as this allows for larger panels of glass. This means that across the whole frame, you can maximise the glass space allowing more natural light into the property, which has huge health benefits.
How secure will the doors be?
Security is vitally important to Clear View and thus all our doors and windows come with the most up to date hardware available. All doors are tested for anti-bump, anti- pick and Kitemark standards to ensure they meet the needs of the homeowners. Despite the larger amounts of glass than other styles, security in never compromised.
My opening is not a standard size?
Please do not worry about this. There really isn’t a standard size and we have never had a job where we have had all doors and windows the same in every opening. At Clear View, we will always come out and measure the doors through a detailed measurement system to ensure a tight fit, because we manufacture all our doors in-house too, we can allow for slight irregularities and build it to the perfect size, rather than making a standard size just fit. We also offer bespoke design which should elevate any difficulties.
