New Year, New Doors

The new year is a fantastic time of the year to begin thinking about installing some new doors. There is an air of freshness and new starts. We clear out the old and bring in the new. We often get round to tackling those small jobs in our homes that have been bugging us for a while, in order to start the new year on a strong foot.

For others though it may mean the start of some larger projects that they have been meaning to get going for a while.

The first thing on most people’s check list when they are trying to improve their home is to get more light into it. By bringing light into your home it creates more clarity and airiness, as well as the illusion of more space. People find light rooms more invigorating and inspiring than dark. So it is easy to see why most people want to achieve this.

There are several ways of brightening, or giving the illusion of brightness to a room. But the most effective, and simplest is to simply let more light in. This can be done by fitting larger windows, or even better, by installing new doors.

Sliding doors can be constructed to a height and width of 3 meters. They give uninterrupted views of the surrounding landscape and drastically reduce the barrier between inside and out. They have been described in the past as a ‘sliding glass wall’ rather than a door.

Also, in comparison to bi-folding doors they have less vertical beams, which maximises the amount of light that comes into the building. These huge panes of glass can weigh up to 180kg, so you would be forgiven for thinking they would be large cumbersome structures. However nothing could be further from the truth. Thanks to our extremely high level of engineering, and skill of our team your doors will glide easily and silently.

Another advantage of a sliding door is that they require no space on the inside or outside, like a bi-folding door does. This means that can be fitted in much tighter spaces, bringing light to even the cosiest of rooms.
