Top 3 things to consider when buying a bi-folding door

During 2015, Clear View has conducted a survey on why people are buying new bi-folding doors, whether this is a replacement for an existing one, or a brand new one completely.

Throughout the year, we have collected data relating to people’s considerations, which include the style, security, space, financial value and additional benefits the doors can provide and below we have listed our top three findings from the year. Whilst this is what people are considering this year, we know that for many these are some of the reasons why they will always choose to use aluminium as a product for their windows and doors, and have a bi-folding door for their home

Security

Security was a big factor in why homeowners wanted to use aluminium frames for their doors. Aluminium as a core product is very strong as thus it provides high levels of initial strength. This added to the fact that is does not weaken in warmer or cold weather and you get a fixed and robust all round package. What people are more interested though is how having large amounts of glass on show can enhance your security, as this appears to be oxymoronic.

The glazing used by our team not only has high energy efficiency ratings but it also features the very best double glazing which means your home is safe from easy break-ins.

Natural Light and freedom

One of the other main things people considered before buying aluminium bi-fold doors, was the natural light and freedoms benefits these doors give you. The seamless transition between internal and external living spaces is a huge plus, especially during the warmer months as the living space can appear double in size, but also the increase natural light available. Because of the concertina effect, you can have large amounts of uninterrupted space which will allow much more natural light into the home. As we have mentioned many times in other posts, natural light is proven to increase mood, so the more you have of it, the more you should be happier.

Style

Style was also a key component as to why many families chose these types of doors. There is no denying that bi-folding doors are a sexy looking products and they do make modern homes look superb. Their curb appeal is outstanding and they have been proven to add financial value to your home such is their professionals. With small sight lines with aluminium doors as well, the whole package is superb. There is also a range of colours.
