What windows should you choose?

Windows are an essential and underrated part of any home. Your windows are key to bringing the outdoors in and can completely transform the look of a property inside and out. At Clear View it is our job to provide our Yorkshire customers with this transformation, and there are many factors to consider when choosing the right windows for the right house.

Purpose

The first thing you need to ask yourself is what will the basic function of your windows be? Purpose and functionality will be a deciding factor in what the design of your windows will be. Are they purely just to let light in, or do you wish for it to serve as a doorway as well. If so a sliding door composed predominately of glass may be the option for you. Are they the main source of light for your room, or merely an ornamental aesthetic? This will determine more stylistic features such as size, shape and material.

Style

It is important you make sure you choose windows that reflect your home’s architectural style. If your home is a contemporary build, then traditional wooden frames for your windows may not be the way to go and vice versa. However, in some cases, contrasting a traditional property with modern features can be a striking addition to a home.

Practicality

While getting the style right is an important part of the picking process, do not neglect the important practical features you require out of your new windows. Depending on building regulations opting for double or triple glazed, thermally efficient windows are the way to go. Also, are the windows positioned in the ideal place to make the most of the natural light available? By getting both these elements right you can save yourself some serious money on energy bills.

If you need some help picking the perfect new aluminium windows for you, get in touch with the team at Clear View on 08001357167. The Huddersfield based team are experienced specialists in designing, manufacturing and installing aluminium profile windows and doors and are more than happy to help.
