As well as being aesthetically pleasing to the eye, with a 4mm toughened outer edge, curtain walls can withstand extreme weather conditions. So although the wide-open view may look intimidating, we can assure you that your house will still be as protected as it would if a brick wall was there.
One of our biggest projects ever entailed designing and installing a 4500 x 4500 curtain wall screen consisting of 10 fixed lights and one set of sliding doors, a ground floor screen 6200 x 2200 and a first-floor screen 6200 x 2200. Due to the building’s structure it presented a real challenge to the Clear View team however this did not stop us from putting our all into the project.
All the glass used for curtain walls is tripled glazed, with a 4mm toughened clear outer edge for the walls and the roof having a 6mm toughened outer edge. This ensures that all curtain walls can withstand intense weather conditions without getting damaged. Curtain walling is a non-load bearing system of glass attached onto a building structure usually forming an integral part of a building. Many factors must be considered when installing curtain walls such as ventilation, acoustic requirements, thermal performance and natural light.
Our experience with architectural workers has provided us with the knowledge to determine when and where curtain walling is more beneficial to a building rather than door or windows that a standard building will consist of.
Curtain walling is a great way to open your home to the beauty of natural lighting from the sun and allows your house to look amazing and unique whilst doing so.
