Client: Mr Rice
Location: Marsden, West Yorkshire
Installed: Aluminium Bi-fold Doors, Aluminium French Doors, Curtain Wall
Mr Rice originally approached Clear View in December 2010 in relation to a planned project to re-develop a row of derelict cottages in Marsden, near Huddersfield.
Following twelve months of discussions, advice, designs, proposals and various planning changes, in April 2011 Clear View were awarded the contract to manufacture and install aluminium bi-folding doors, French doors, a curtain wall and windows to the development.
In total, Clear View installed 4 X Facetted SAS Thermally Broken Curtain Wall Screens, 3 x SAS 300 Series Thermally broken French doors and 2 x Blyweert Beaufort bifolding doors. To limit the amount of maintenance to the outside toughened high Performance self-cleaning glazing was fitted throughout.
During the project, were asked to quote for a further element of the contract a curved parapet pressing following the line of the building which we were awarded. Clear View faced two key challenges. The first problem was that the structure of the building where the curtain wall was being fitted curved like an oval, making manufacturing the aluminium a real challenge.
Secondly, the cottages were located in an exposed position on Marsden Moors, which not only created an access challenge, but the driving wind and rain made the installation a real challenge for Clear View’s engineers. Working through all weather.
