Well, one recent client took full advantage of our good nature and ordered one bi-folding door, two large windows and a huge electronic roof lantern!
The client originally got in contact as they had heard about our ‘end to end service’. And, being a local company it meant that we were on hand to resolve any issues that may occur.
After discussing their needs with our in-house design team the client decided to press forward and order two large windows, one bi-folding door and a roofing lantern. They are building an extension on their home, and wanted to lower the barrier between the outdoors and in as much as possible. By making three of the four walls nearly completely transparent, and installing a huge roofing lantern the room will be incredibly light, and will open right up to the garden in the warmer months.
Once we had the client’s order we visited the site to take measurements. We prefer to do this ourselves as it gives us full accountability of the project. Once measurements were taken it was simply a case of constructing the doors and lantern in our facility in Huddersfield.
The bi-folding door was made of four panels and measured 4053×2160. The glass was made from 6mm toughened panes with a 16mm argon cavity, for better thermal efficiency with solar controlled glass.
The two windows measured 4950×1680 and were 4 panels each. The frames of both the doors and windows were finished in a pleasant magnolia and had silver hardware throughout.
The roofing lantern is one of the biggest we’ve provided and measures 3.9×3.4 metres and has electronically controlled vents for ease of use. Once constructed we then returned to the site to install them. As we had taken all the initial measurements installation was easy, and in to time at all the client was one step closer to having a completed summer room.
