A client in Cambridge got in contact with Clear View as they wanted to lift and brighten the rear of their home. Her main goal was to let more light inside her kitchen and dining room, while lowering the barrier between the outdoors and in.
After a long discussion with the in-house design team about what the best solution would be, the client decided on both a curtain wall and a set of sliding doors. Once we had the order the engineering team here at Clear View set about manufacturing frames for the three sliding doors, each made of strong aluminium. The sliding doors were the state-of-the-art MA Visoglide Plus types. The glass panes were made with 4mm toughened glass and had a 20mm argon filled cavity.
Curtain walls are typically used in commercial properties, however they are equally spectacular in homes. Having a huge wall made of glass allows the maximum amount of light possible into a home. combined with a sliding door the barrier between the outdoors and in is virtually eliminated, allowing for a seamless transition between the two.
The client was delighted with her curtain wall, and the affect it had on her home. If you’d like some advice about how a sliding door or curtain wall can benefit your domestic property, get in touch with the team at Clear View today.
